Take Time to Have Fun
Lately I’ve been working a lot and feeling overstretched with not enough downtime.
When I feel this way, the best thing I can do is to stop.
Make time to relax.
Why?
Because when you push yourself too far, there comes a point when you snap.
What can you do to have fun?
That’s the thing: growing up in an alcoholic/dysfunctional family, I took on the role of the “superhero.”
I would come in to save the day. Help out, be open, do all the things.
But I didn’t make time for myself.
I’ve learned my lesson by failing to remember the importance of rest and fun so many times over the years.
The world will not end if we stop and take a break. In fact, we’ll not only feel better after our break, but we’ll also be ready for the challenges that come our way.
I think it’s fair to say that so many people are struggling right now.
Money issues. Problems on the job. Relationship issues.
The list goes on and on.
As adults, we forget what it was like to have fun, laugh, and enjoy life.
What would happen if you let the little kid in you have some fun?
What would you choose to do?
I’ll leave you with this one last thing: laugh.
And laugh often.
I’m often the pragmatic one in the group, and my dysfunctional family history has caused me to be prepared for the worst.
That can be a good thing—sometimes, but I can also get to be too serious.
But a good laugh?
Ah, that does wonders for the body, mind, and soul.
I hope you enjoy your day.
But now it’s your turn: leave me a comment and let me know what you did to have fun.
